Sierra Space-based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL-designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations.

As a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, test, and implement our secure systems, applications, networks, security monitoring, and tuning. You'll be responsible for the development of cybersecurity requirements for systems and applications, incident response, loss prevention, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and developing and implementing security controls. You'll research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies in alignment with our cybersecurity strategy and introduce them to the enterprise. Additionally, you will be responsible for cyber threat identification, evaluation, prioritization, and remediation activities under the direction of the Cyber Security Manager. You'll continuously review existing and proposed changes to Sierra Space systems, networks, and software designs, and is responsible for analyzing logging and alerting data, and identifying and escalating potential security events.

Must Haves:

  • TS/SCI Clearance Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline and typically 14 (fourteen) or more years of relevant experience; higher level degree may substitute for experience.

  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting, troubleshooting, and administering a variety of networks, OSs, and applications.

  • Expert knowledge of data security administration principles, methods, and techniques

  • Advanced understanding of zero trust network domain structures, user architecture, NIST 800-53, Space Systems, and applications


Preferred:

  • ISSM CAP, CISSP, or CISM Certification

  • ISSE CAP, CISSP-ISSEP Certification

  • ISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ Certification

  • MCSE, Linux, and/or CCNP Security Certification

  • Knowledge of DoD, government contracting and/or public auditing, policies, standards, and procedures

  • Ability to read and interpret security and technical documentation.

  • Proven track record of maintaining the confidentiality of high-sensitivity projects and data.

  • Ability to perform critical incident response.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$159,430.15 - $239,145.23

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
