Responsibilities

About the Position: RN position is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the direct patient care, and program implementation for residents/patients in the acute care and residential programs. Working with all populations in the hospital. The candidate must have compassion in dealing with the chemical dependency populations, Acute Adults and Children. Assesses the patients/residents needs and coordinates/implements the delivery of quality nursing care, as prescribed by the Treatment Team / Physician. Provides safety and crisis management for the patient populations, and assures a safe and therapeutic environment

Cedar Springs Hospital COVID-19 vaccination mandate:

In accordance with Colorado state public health order, all healthcare workers must be vaccinated, and the Company must verify vaccine status. Pursuant to this public health order, the following modes constitute as proof of vaccination:

  • an electronic entry in the Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS); OR
  • an immunization record from a licensed healthcare provider who has administered a COVID-19 vaccine to an individual who provides services for the facility or agency, specifying the vaccine administered, name and title of the person who administered the vaccine, address of the location where the vaccine was administered, and the date it was administered. A COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control & Prevention or WHO Yellow Card) which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided, and date last dose administered would suffice.

Exemptions

1. Workers may be exempt from the vaccination requirements by providing a signed exemption form indicating one of the following:

a. Religious Beliefs

b. Qualifying Medical Reason

2. To be eligible for an exemption based on Religious Beliefs, the worker must provide a written statement describing the worker's sincerely held religious beliefs and how those beliefs conflict with Colorado's August 21, 2021 Public Health Order requiring certain healthcare workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The company may request supporting documentation to further evaluate the request for religious accommodation.

3. To be eligible for a Qualified Medical Reason exemption, the worker must provide a written statement signed by a physician, physician assistant, advanced practice nurse, or certified nurse midwife licensed in the State of Colorado stating that the COVID-19 vaccination for the employee, direct contractor, or support staff is medically contraindicated as described in the product labeling or authorized by the FDA. This statement should not describe the underlying medical condition or disability but should indicate the probable duration of the inability to receive the vaccine.

4. A record of signed exemption forms and statements submitted in support of the exemption request must be maintained in a confidential HR Medical file, separate from the Personnel File.


Qualifications

Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. * Frequently stands, walks, kneels, reaches while working with patients. * Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients. * Ability to perform CPR and first aid. Ability to drive a vehicle if necessary. * Ability to work rotating shifts, and be flexible in own hours. * Must be able to speak, read and write clearly, and organize multiple tasks at one time. * Ability to visually supervise patients/residents & hear requests for assistance from patients/residents and staff. Able to problem solve situations under stressful situations. * Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. * Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. MUST HAVE COLORADO SINGLE STATE OR COMPACT RN LICENSE.

Would prefer: Knowledge and experience of nursing care and interventions with psychiatric patients. Knowledgeable of the psychotropic medications, potential side effects, and psychiatric diagnoses. Ability to direct others in the delivery of services, organize multiple tasks at one time, and problem solve situations under a fast paced environment. Ability to safely implement special treatment procedures. Ability to delegate responsibility to others and assure completion of shift duties. Skill in developing therapeutic relationships with clients of all ages, and work as a member of a treatment team.
