Job Description
Schmidt Construction, part of the Edw. C. Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Power Broom Operator to work at our Castle Rock, CO location. The Power Broom Operator is responsible for the control and operation of pick up sweeper and or side cast brooms.

Pay: $26-30
Shift: 7am-5pm Nights and Weekends

Responsibilities
The Power Broom Operator will:
  • Operate commercial power sweepers and side kick brooms.
  • Coordinate with the mill operator to determine operational methods.
  • Efficiently sweep behind the milling machine using both sweeper and side kick brooms.
  • Drive the power sweeper and side kick to assigned sweeping areas.
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate sweepers in various conditions, including busy or congested areas and roads with curves or narrow clearances, requiring alertness and caution.
  • Perform less skilled tasks related to equipment operation and operate smaller equipment as needed, such as greasing, fluid level checks, routine maintenance, and sidewalk/driveway cleaning with blowers.
  • Inspect equipment before and after use, perform minor maintenance, and report any significant issues to the shop foreman and supervisor.
  • Fill water tanks on the power sweeper and side cast, adjust side and pick-up brooms, and assemble/install such brooms in the shop when necessary.
  • Meet customer service expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Knowledge and skill in the proper operation of sweepers and side kick equipment
  • A valid class A CDL for this position
  • A team and safety oriented mentality
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Basic Mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of bulk materials
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or equivalent
