Job Description
*PURPOSE:
Responsible for inside sales and technical support. Interface with Taft customers, agents, engineering, operations, and other resources to provide required information in support of sales and growth.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Research and qualify prospective bid opportunities for the sale of the company's products utilizing on-line construction bidding software or other available resources.
  • Act as the project coordinator for all assigned projects. This includes being the primary point of contact for all logistical support as well as working with the outside sales team and product manufacturers to meet project specifications and timelines.
  • Engage in daily coordination between vendors, customers, and co-workers on the details of equipment selection, quotations, engineering submittals, ordering process, and shipments.
  • Review and interpret commercial construction drawings, plans, and specifications for creation of equipment proposals.
  • Review customer purchase order contracts and all other documents as they relate to corporate policies and work with the customer or supervisor to resolve any conflicts.
  • Maintain minimum corporate margins on sale of specific product lines and report any variances to immediate supervisor for approval.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Associates degree and/or 2-4 years of experience in Customer Service and Technical Support in the Commercial HVAC industry or similar.

MANAGEMENT:

No direct reports

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Professional level of mathematical, verbal and written skills
  • Capacity to understand technical products and applications.
  • Good learning capacity, ability to work independently through a wide range of tasks, with limited supervision.
  • Collect and research data provided by customers to resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of CRM systems
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

*WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work in office environment.

May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting:

  • Occasional travel within territories to complete job site "walk-throughs" and report and follow-up on findings (may involve overnight stays)
  • Occasional travel to various manufacturer's factories for training and or purposes (will involve overnight stays)
  • Occasional travel to various industry sales events (which may include participation on behalf of Taft Engineering) , conventions, and training seminars (will involve overnight stays)
  • Participate and assist as directed with Taft Engineering sales and service training events (may be in Taft Office or off-site location)

Hourly rate range is 28.00 to 35.00 per hour depending on experience.
