HDR is currently looking for a Senior GIS Project Manager to join our growing Federal team

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary duties of a Senior GIS Project Manager include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of large multi-discipline projects or medium sized GIS projects with a high degree of technical complexity, involving a diverse project staff.

  • GIS Project Managers provide marketing support for GIS activities and mentor GIS team members throughout the organization.
  • Is involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently. Establishes client relations and is involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
  • Conducts GIS technical schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines.
  • Ensures project deliverables and supporting documentation are complete, understandable, conform to applicable and reasonable standards relative to their intended purpose, including client and HDR requirements.
  • Is responsible to coordinate the staffing and workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Works with Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and the Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews.
  • Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures and completing reviews of GIS reports, data and applications for complex projects.
  • Responsible for execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plans. Acts as mentor/supervisor for less experienced Task Leaders.
  • Maintains professional GISP registration.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Provide marketing support for national GIS business class and Federal Business development team.
  • Support and be active in our community of geospatial professionals.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software (Primavera P3 or SureTrak preferred), project management software (Prolog preferred)
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference given to local candidates
  • BA/BS in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in GIS and geomatics project implementation for Federal Clients.
  • Proficient in use of ArcGIS, ArcGIS extensions and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a GIS project leader including development of technical approach, budget, scheduling, and quality assurance.
  • Expertise in data analysis, including statistics or geostatistics.
  • Esri Certification preferred. PMP, AICP, PE or other professional certification a plus.
  • GISP certification preferred.

The expected compensation range for this position is $115,990.00 - 165,700.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
