About the Position
As Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will supervise the maintenance and repair of a fleet of 40 vehicles (Gilligs, Orions, International school buses, and cutaways) serving the Town of Winter Park, and the Winter Park Resort. Bus service operates year round, but service increases substantially during the ski season from November to April. The seasonality of the operation means that the maintenance team cycles between preparing the fleet for the ski season during the summer, and keeping it running during the winter. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that 2 technicians are trained on current operating procedures, are properly equipped, and are motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. Additionally, the Fleet Maintenance Manager will oversee the transition to a new, state of the art maintenance facility which is scheduled to begin construction in the Spring of 2022. The transition to the new facility offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of transit in Winter Park by solving many of the problems currently faced by the maintenance team.
